On September 10, 2022, the WGPR Historical Society celebrated the enduring legacy of Blacks in the Media. The special guest for the evening was sports journalist and ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith. The gala raised money for the expansion of the William V. Banks Broadcast Museum and Media Center. Our Executive Producer, George Paige attended this wonderful, informative event. He said it was so well planned and well attended with the WHO’s Who of Detroit.
