Ask the Messengers (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Ask the Messengers mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the App.

Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information (such as name, email address, phone number, or payment details) within the App. We do not require account registration.

Analytics and Diagnostics: We may collect non-personal information, such as device model, operating system version, app interactions, and crash data, to improve app stability and performance. This may be collected via Apple-provided diagnostics or other analytics providers, and does not identify you personally.

Location Access

If you grant location access, it is used solely to help you find services and resources in your area via Apple Maps and Google Maps. Ask The Messengers does not share or retain your precise location information. You can change or revoke the location access at any time in your device Settings.

U.S. State Privacy Rights

    This section supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to residents of certain U.S. states with privacy laws (including, for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and others). For purposes of this section, “personal information” includes “personal data” as defined by applicable law.

    Categories We Process
    • Precise geolocation (only if you grant permission), used solely to show nearby services and resources via Apple Maps and Google Maps.
    • Device information, usage, and diagnostics data used to maintain and improve the App.

    What We Don’t Do
    • We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
    • We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information (such as precise geolocation) for purposes other than providing requested services and ensuring app functionality.
    • We do not profile you in ways that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

    Your Rights
    Depending on your state, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, and portability of your personal information; to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; and to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information. Because we do not sell or share personal information and only use precise location to provide the mapping feature, some rights may not be applicable.

    How to Exercise Your Rights
    You can submit a request by emailing askthemessengers@gmail.com and including your state of residence and the nature of your request. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by law. If we decline to act on a request, you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing us with “Appeal” in the subject line.

    Authorized Agents (California)
    If you are a California resident, you may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf. We may require proof of authorization and verification of your identity.

    Non-Discrimination
    We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

    Nevada Residents
    We do not sell “covered information” as defined under Nevada law (NRS 603A).

    Third-Party Mapping Providers
    If you choose to use mapping features, Apple or Google may process location data to provide those services. Your use of Apple Maps is subject to Apple’s privacy policy, and your use of Google Maps is subject to Google’s privacy policy.

How We Use Information

We use aggregated, non-identifiable analytics to understand app usage and improve features, performance, and content.

Share of Information

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties. We may share aggregated, non-identifiable information for analytics and performance monitoring. 

Third-Party Services: The App may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., donation pages) or embed third-party content. Any information you provide to those services is governed by their privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies before providing information.

Donation and Payments

Donations made through external links are processed by third-party providers. We do not collect or store payment information in the App. Please review the third-party provider’s privacy policy for details about how your payment data is handled. 

Data Retention

Because we do not collect personal information in the App, we do not retain personal data. Analytics and crash logs, if collected, may be retained for a limited period to support maintenance and improvements.

Children’s Privacy

Our App is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age of consent in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your Privacy Rights 

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Since we do not collect personal information through the App, these rights may be limited in scope. If you have questions, please contact us.

Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated ‘Last Updated’ date and will be effective as soon as it is accessible.
